Inspired by movement and organic form, the Danish architect and designer Hannes Stephensen created the chair Fly as a bird taking off. In the words of the artist, “…there is both logic and beauty in the drama that makes it possible for a bird to fly, and some this natural beauty must be possible to translate into a piece of furniture.” Indeed, a highly dynamic form is obtained through the masterful articulation of the backrest elements, gradually opening up and spreading out like the wings of a bird.
Fly is developed in collaboration with Egevaerk, who signs the exquisite craftsmanship of the piece. The beauty of the wood and of the inner tension inherent in the living material are subtly underlined by the junctions and the delicate surface treatment.
Fly is available in two different versions in ash: a black as well as a light version.
