The solo exhibition Evanescent  features recent glass sculptures and lightings by the Finish artist and architect Ilkka Suppanen. In a metaphorical way, Ilkka Suppanen suggests a link between water and glass through their ability to turn from solid into liquid and vaporous stages. Architectural, yet delicate, Suppanen’s glass sculptures seem to be in constant change, appearing like ethereal visions in translucent colors from white and pale green to ice blue. In some of the sculptures, Suppanen used silver to enhance the optical illusion of a vibrating silhouette, like a mirage on the horizon of the sea. Made in collaboration with the Murano glass blowers Tiozzo and Claudio Pino Signoretto, the sculptures of Suppanen prolongs the important tradition of Modernist Finnish artists, such as Tapio Wirkkala, working with Murano glass blowers.

Ilkka Suppanen is further exploring the optical dimension in the  3D printed and hand assembled Porcupine lamps in resin or copper. Porcupine was selected by CNN among the « 15 Most Desirable Objects In The World » in 2016.
