Threesome, 2017
Music has often been an important source of inspiration to Finish designer Mikko Paakkanen (b. 1975) and the shape for his sculptural ”Big Stool” can be found in the forms of sound waves. Made of one single piece of solid oak, hand-sculpted by Mikko Paakkanen himself, this piece is revealing the designer’s double training as a designer from the University of Design in Helsinki and as a master cabinet-maker.
