The Thread of Your Thought : Group Show of 8 Artists

The exhibition The Thread of Your Thought brings together the work of eight contemporary artists and designers from Denmark and Norway, around the thread and the filiform. Whether it is the thread that weaves, the thread that sews, the thread that connects or the thread that doodles, it is the thread as thought and as a tool for poetic reflection, which forms the common thread of the exhibition. From silk to optical fiber, over wool, mohair, cotton, sisal, polyester, viscose or nylon, each work reveals an intimate thought and its journey, often rooted in century-old traditions, revisited by an empirical experimentation. The exhibition is a celebration of thread as a medium in Scandinavian textile art and design, mixing tradition and modernity, where ancestral techniques or materials meet sensitive and audacious contemporary approaches. In the words of Cecilie Bendixen: “The thread forms itineraries, systems and textures in which our thoughts are located, and new ways of organizing matter, allowing different thoughts, opening new paths in unknown terrain. »
