In the work of Danish artist and designer Jakob Jørgensen, metal tubes are both functional and sculptural, and the hard material is endowed with unprecedented fluid qualities. In Jørgensen’s large-scale metalwork Panca, the deformation of the metal tube gives way for organic forms and creates a strong impression on the viewer.

The exhibition « Metalworks – Designing & Making » at Konschthal Esch seeks to explore the ongoing dialogue between metal, design and urbanism. The exhibition itself takes place in the city of Esch, a post-industrial city with a strong heritage in metallurgy, making it the ideal location for this exhibition.
